Egg and Dove Sculpture

Chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Jaques Pepin value eggs above much else. With Gordon Ramsay’s scrambled eggs on toast and Jaques Pepin’s omelet test, eggs are one of the clearest distinguishing factors to determine a skilled chef. Because, as they are very easy to cook, they are just as easy to spoil. The line is fragile between perfection and imperfection.

Purity vs Imperfection - My goal with this piece was to find imagery that explores these two sides of nature. This is why I gifted this sculpture to a restaurant as its permanent home. The rough live edge and tree bark contrasts the smooth pure white of the dove; like plating a designed menu. The dish will use elements that have raw torn elements with the precision using tweezers to place micro-greens and a spouted spoon to pour flavored cream. This combination to create a perfect dish is art.
